I was born in Istanbul, Turkiye. I was already retired when I came to the United States. In search of things to do here in a different environment I fell in love with ikebana when I went to see an ikebana exhibition.

I started my ikebana journey by taking lessons in 2010. I became an Ichiyo ikebana instructor in 2014. I`ve got my Associate Master degree from Ichiyo School of Ikebana in 2020.

I`ve been to many Ichiyo ikebana retreats in Atlanta and Omaha and conferences of Ikebana North America. I joined lots of ikebana exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops. Out of the hundreds of ikebana schools of ikebana, Ichiyo is one of the most contemporary schools of ikebana. Ichiyo school allows the arranger to express her own personality.

After learning the basics and studying the elements of ikebana, you can easily make your own arrangement using your creativity and of course, the most important thing is the joy you feel while using beautiful flowers and leaves.
